Why is Java the de facto programming language all of a sudden? I applied to a number of colleges and most of them want to know if im a Java man whore..... (not in verbatim).

I have decided to go all out with application letters. My printer has been huffing and puffing for the past few days. I have the determination of a desperate dying man, and desperation doesnt come in a stronger flavor.

Its been so long than im embarassed to go blog

Can you imagine 8 months without a job, boy! this city is so harsh. There were some close calls but it always turns out negative at the last minute. This month will be the last straw, if i dont get a job im going to migrate to the Cebu where hopefully will be a more IT graduate friendly environment.

During the ??? month that ive stopped blogging several major things happened, i flew to Makati for a job training as a network engineer. It was a pleasant feeling to fly to a great place like Makati out of the expense of other the second time! The first time was for the essay award back in 2002. A fellow newly hired fellow(poor choice of words) was with me on the trip. So after we landed, we got a cab, and my eyes were once again graced by the towering buildings and the massive malls of the north. We slept at the condo of the company's owner...on the same bed.... nothing happened. .. i swear.. now if he was a girl, that would be an entirely different story... anyways...

We were supposed to be trained there, but save for a few employees, no one had any idea what the hell we were doing there. 2 days doing nothing, 1 scolding from one of the chairman, and three weeks of haphazard training later, i was back at davao. With no organized training, proper evaluation and suspected badmouthing of that certain fellow. i was back at the unemployed line. But i bought a cheap ps2 while in makati, modded my xbox and got to go to all the malls there, so i kinda made a good thing out of a bad one...


I was getting tired of applying so i decided to make a flash website for our Internet Cafe. That took about a month, and now its partly finished, visit it at http://www.info.com.ph/~playsqr/ if you dont have anything to do, okay?

in January, i decided to enter a Flash game contest for a popular online game here in the Phil. It was an interesting exercise, nerve-wracking, hair-pulling, uber-cramming kind of exercise. I barely made the Jan 30 deadline, only to have the deadline moved to April 30.... go to hell, Level-up//

Mozilla Firefox

Hmmm... sounds like a cheesy name of a superhero. It may very well be, Mozilla Firefox is the newest browser to take on Microsoft's Internet Explorer, the monopoly in the browsers race.
Having tried previous versions, i was impressed by the new features but was turned off by significant incompatibility issues with some sites. Now that a new "preview" version is out, i tried it again. and here are what i noticed different from using IE:

significantly fewer pop-ups
slightly faster loading
using mousegesture plugin i was able to scroll/go back/open new window/etc. by doing certain gestures with my mouse
reduce clutter by having multiple websites open in one window
conveniently put all my favorite sites at a vacant spot in a toolbar

Try the new Firefox 1.0 at their site, and be fired up, pun absolutely intended.
